University of South Carolina Bookstore Open Despite Parent Firm’s Bankruptcy
The USC bookstore in the Russell House will remain open even though the parent company that manages the store has filed for bankruptcy.
The University of South Carolina contracts its bookstore operations to Wallace’s Bookstores and Wallace’s Book Co., based in Lexington, Kentucky. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week in Wilmington, Del.
In addition to the USC Russell House bookstore, Wallace also manages the USC Health Services Bookstore and the bookstore at Charleston Southern University. Those stores will remain open as well.
